Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church presents their 6th Annual Women’s Health Conference; which will be an extension of a Zumba Fitness program.   This event was so powerful and had such a tremendous impact on the women of the community and abroad.   There were so many health concerns expressed and many answers were presented via special speakers and through the venue of specialty vendors. Such vendors included  free massages by licensed massage Therapist, Screenings provided by Middlesex Hospital, early breast and cervical cancer detection by the Middletown Community Health Center, dental screenings , high blood pressure and diabetes screening by the Middletown Department of Health and The American lung  Association just to name a few.   Motivational speakers included the following:  a gastroenterologist, cardiologist, nutritionist, psychologist and a beauty consultant.  Sponsors from last year included Middlesex Hospital, Doolittle Funeral Home, Lino’s Market in Durham Ct, Middletown Press, CVS main St. Extension and Price Chopper. 

 As the journey continues, the 56th Annual Women’s Health conference is no longer traditional; this year they have a new theme: “Outward in 2017”.  They will be opening up with Cycling offered by Durham Fitness, performed by instructor Kristin and concluding with a fitness class.   Last year they had over 52 plus vendors. This year the following vendors will be participating: ABC Women’s Center, Home Goods/Bedding, Gourmet Organic, Middlesex YMCA, Women’s Accessories, Qivana, Thirty One Gifts, The Total Women, Custom Fitting Bras, Hypnosis, 99 Round Middletown, Hearts, hands &Homes, Avon, Sykes Family Chiropractic, Simply “She” Boutique, Aids Connecticut, Dawn Foss Author, Walgreens, The Department of Children and Family, Tracy Lynn Jewelry and the Domestic Violence Group and many others will be attending.  We are still excepting health vendor and accessory vendor this year.

Looking to exchange old habits to new and improved habits come out on that day and feel the power of change.   Experience a day of education, Physical activity, net working, new friendships, and a NEW YOU!
